Brazil’s President Vetoes Portions of Forest Code Revision to Reduce Amnesty Provisions
RIO DE JANEIRO-Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has vetoed 12 provisions in a bill that overhauls the country’s 1965 Forest Code in an effort to reduce amnesty provisions for landowners who have illegally cleared land, Environment Minister Izabella Teixeira announced at a May 25 news conference.
