ROSSLYN, Va., June 8, 2011-National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), along with numerous other manufacturers, trade associations, and other affected parties, encouraged the U.S. Senate to take up the Energy Savings and Industrial Competitiveness Act of 2011 (S 1000) in a letter to all Senate offices.
“S 1000 is a bill with great bi-partisan support that provides sensible energy solutions for our country, saves energy and creates jobs,” said NEMA President and CEO Evan Gaddis. “We encourage the Senate to bring S 1000 to the floor as soon as possible for a vote and pass it.”
Introduced by Sen. Shaheen (D-NH) and Sen. Portman (R-OH), S1000 would create jobs through the implementation of various energy efficient technologies that would also decrease the country’s reliance foreign sources of energy.
